Viewing Background Tasks

Infoblox Portal provides the ability to monitor long-running tasks in the background. These tasks generally take more time to execute and are running in the background. You can view the entire list of background tasks, clear specific tasks from the list, or edit them.

The following diagram provides an overview of background tasks:

You can view the following background tasks:

• A single copying task of IPAM and DNS objects.
• Bulk copying tasks of IPAM and DNS objects.

To view the background tasks, complete the following:

1. Log in to the Infoblox Portal.
2. Click Configure > Background Processes (located at the bottom of the navigation panel). A list of background tasks is displayed.
3. Perform the following actions based on the status of the task:
   • In progress: This task is shown in blue. Click the ... (dots) next to the task and select Cancel to cancel the task.
   • Succeeded: This task is shown in green. This task has the following options:
     • View Result: Choose this option to view the result of the completed task.
     • Edit: Choose this option to go to the edit dialog of the result. 
     • Clear from list: Choose this option to clear the task from the list.
   • Failed: This task is shown in red. Click Clear from list to clear the task from the list. 
   • Canceled: This task is shown in grey.  Click Clear from list to clear the task from the list.
