Copying Subnets

You can copy a single subnet or multiple subnets from one IP space to another IP space. You can make one or more copies of an existing subnet with all its settings. A subnet can only be copied into an existing IP space. Before copying a subnet, make sure, the target IP space is available. The source IP space and the target IP space must be different.

Note

Ensure that the leases are either cleared or expired before copying the subnet to another IP space.

To copy a single subnet, complete the following:

  • From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Networking > IPAM/DHCP > Address Spaces.

  •  Click on the IP Space to view the list of subnets that are associated with it.

  • Click ☰> Copy for the object or select the object and click Create > Copy.

  • Configure the following settings in the Copy dialog:
    • Address: The IP address is already pre-populated.
    • Name: Specify a name for the copy.
    • Description: Specify a description.
    • Destination IP Space: Choose a destination IP space where the object is to be copied.
    • Error Handling: Select Continue copying on error to copy the object even if there is an error. Select Stop copying on error to abort the copy if there is an error during the copy process.
    • Copy all child objects: Select this check box to copy all the child objects. Clear this check box if you do not want the child objects copied.
    • Copy DHCP Options configuration: Select the check box to copy the configuration for DHCP options from the source subnet to the target subnet.
  • Click Save & Close to continue with the copy process. Click Cancel to cancel the copy process.
  • Refresh the page to view the result.

Note

You must create a subnet before copying it. For more information, see Configuring Subnets. You can copy subnets from NIOS into Universal DDI. For more information on managing NIOS objects, see Configuring NIOS Grid Connector.

While copying subnets from a Microsoft Active Directory IP space to a BloxOne IP space, copying the DHCP options is not supported and the Copy DHCP Options configuration check box is disabled.Â
