Creating LBDNs
After Creating DTC Servers, Creating DTC Pools, and DTC Policies, finally create an LBDN (Load Balanced Domain Name).
To create an LBDN, do the following:
Go to Configure > Networking > DNS.
Click DTC and choose LBDNs.
Click Create LBDN.
Configure the following in the Create LBDN screen:
DNS View: Choose the DNS view from the list.
Name: Specify a name for the LBDN.
Precedence: Use the up and down arrows to set the precedence for the LBDN. The precedence value explicitly prioritizes multiple matching policy patterns of the same query name assigned to the same DNS zone. The lower the precedence value, the higher the priority for query resolution of the matching load balancing policies. For example:
An LBDN with the pattern
*.example.com
and an LBDN with the patternwww.*.com
can be linked to the same zoneexample.com
.If the LBDN with the
*.example.com
pattern has a precedence of 1, and the LBDN with thewww.*.com
pattern has a precedence of 2 or 3, the former will have higher priority.
Load Balancing Policy: Choose the policy from the list.
Description: Provide a description for the LBDN.
TTL: The TTL settings are inherited from the parent. To specify different TTL settings, toggle Override and specify the TTL in Days, Hours, Minutes, Second, or Weeks.
Disable for DNS Protocol: Choose this option to disable DNS protocol for this view.
Tags: Optionally, specify tags. For more information, see Managing Tags.
