Configuring NAT Rules

NAT (Network Address Translation) is the remapping of one IP address space into another by modifying the network address information in the IP header of the packets while they are in transit across a router. Use NAT to quickly assign new IP addresses to all devices in a network when you need to move the network or replace an internet service provider. Typically, configuring NAT on a router allows you to use a unique IP address to represent all devices in your local network while they are communicating with the internet.

On the NAT Rules page, the Cloud Services Portal displays the following information for each NAT rule:

• NAME: The name of the NAT rule.
• INCLUDE SUBNETS: The total number of subnets in the rule. When you expand Include Subnets, details of the subnets appear in the panel on the right.
• EXCLUDE SUBNETS: The total number of subnets excluded from the NAT rule. When you expand Exclude Subnets, details of the subnets appear in the panel on the right.

You can do the following in the NAT Rules tab:

• View Include Subnets, Exclude Subnets, and other details of a rule: Select the rule and view its details in the panel on the right or by clicking .
• Modify a rule: Click  > Edit, or select the checkbox for the rule and click the Edit button.
• Remove a rule: Select the rule and click  > Remove or click the Remove button.
• Search for rules by keyword: In the Search text box, enter the keyword that you want to search on. The application displays the list of rules that match the keyword.
• Filter rules by name: Click .
