Applying Tags to Objects
In an editor where configuring tags is applicable, complete the following:
In the Tags section, click Add and complete the following:
KEY: Enter the name of the tag you want to apply to this object. When you start typing, Infoblox Portal displays existing tags that match the letters you enter. You can select the tag you want to use from the list of available tags. If none of the existing tags are applicable, you can complete your entry and a free-form tag is created implicitly. Infoblox Portal displays New next to the new tag.
VALUE: Enter a value for the tag.
Click Save & Close.
Note
When you implicitly add a new tag, the key and value are stored in the system, and you can assign the same tag to other objects. Any time you change the name or value of an existing tag, you are introducing a new tag, and the Infoblox Portal displays New next to the tag when you create it.
Applying Tags to Multiple Objects Simultaneously
You can select multiple objects in Infoblox Portal and assign tags to all the selected objects simultaneously.
To apply tags to multiple objects simultaneously, complete the following:
Select multiple objects in Infoblox Portal.
Select Assign Tags.
In the Assign Tags dialog, complete the following:
KEY: Enter the name of the tag you want to apply to this object.
VALUE: Enter a value for the tag.
Override existing key / value pairs: Choose this option to override the existing key/value pair with the one you are entering in this dialog.
Click Assign.
Repeat the above steps to assign more tags to the selected objects.
To assign the tags and close the dialog, click Assign & Close.
Note
Select the Override existing key / value pairs check box to replace an existing key/value pair with the one newly entered. If you do not select the Override existing key / value pairs check box, the existing key/value pair will not be replaced with the new key/value pair even if the newly added key is the same as the existing key.
