Viewing License Entitlements
On the Infoblox Portal, you can find License Entitlement in the top-right drop-down menu under your user profile. By clicking License Entitlement, you will gain access to the Infoblox licensing dashboards that provide an overview of your organization's license entitlements for the Infoblox Platform account.
Universal DDI License Entitlements
The Universal DDI License Entitlements Dashboard is a powerful monitoring and management tool that delivers real-time insights into the usage and allocation of DDI, which includes DNS, DHCP, and IPAM licenses. This dashboard empowers organizations to effectively track their license utilization, optimize resource allocation, and ensure compliance with licensing entitlements. By leveraging the license entitlements dashboard, organizations can achieve a comprehensive understanding of their licensing landscape, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning for their DDI resources.
DNS Queries is the total number of inbound queries received by all deployed DNS servers.
Each Active IP is allocated a maximum of 6000 DNS Queries per IP, per day.
Active IPs are unique IPs that are administratively assigned in IPAM, observed from DHCP lease or DNS query operations.
Instances are deployed servers with either DNS, DHCP, or both enabled. A pair of DHCP HA devices are counted as a single instance.
Server Exceeding Capacity Warning: A warning message will appear when a service surpasses its capacity limits. This message will provide the following details: Name, Service, QPS, and LPS.
License Entitlement Overview
The License Entitlement Overview displays the total number of entitlements linked to your account.
This section provides the following information:
Management: This area displays the total number of allocated user licenses. By default, the page presents data for the current day.
Protocol Servers: This area indicates the number of servers responsible for managing and delivering essential network services such as DNS, DHCP, and IPAM. The maximum lookback period for this data is 12 months, with the default view set to the current day.
Reporting: This area displays the number of licenses utilized for generating DNS reports, DHCP reports, and Security reports.
Usage Analysis (Graphical Data Representation and Trend Metrics)
Management Chart: The Management chart offers a visual representation of the usage data metrics found in the Reporting section.
This section includes the following details:
Active IP: When Trend is enabled, token usage for Active IPs is recorded.
Assets: When Trend is enabled, token usage for Assets is recorded.
DDI: When Trend is enabled, token usage for DDI is recorded.
Protocol Servers Chart: The Protocol Servers chart presents the following information:
As-a-Service: When Trend is enabled, token usage for “As-a-Service” is recorded.
Self-managed Servers: When Trend is enabled, token usage for “Self-managed Servers” is recorded.
Reporting Chart: The Reporting chart provides the following insights:
30-day Active Search: When Trend is enabled, token usage is recorded.
S3: When Trend is enabled, token usage is recorded.
Usage Analysis (Numerical Data)
The Usage Analysis table is interactive and dependent on the data displayed in the chart.

Trend Metric Analysis
When trend analysis is activated, the charts will showcase interactive usage data for the selected time period. Each chart clearly indicates the last update time for the displayed data. By clicking any point within the chart, a tooltip will appear, revealing the metrics associated with that specific data point. The table data corresponds to the metrics shown on the chart and pertains to the current month.
To initiate trend analysis, simply toggle the Trend switch to the far-right position. This trend analysis feature allows you to examine graphical usage data over a specified time frame, whether daily or monthly. The maximum lookback period for usage data extends up to 12 months, including the current month. Please note that the charts will display data for a maximum of 12 months.
Infoblox Threat Defense License Entitlements
The Infoblox Threat Defense License Entitlements Dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of security license usage. This dashboard is specifically designed to highlight significant trends related to various aspects of Infoblox Threat Defense, including queries, the utilization of Dossier™, and events occurring within the Infoblox Ecosystem. By presenting this information in a clear and organized format, the dashboard empowers users to effectively monitor and analyze their security posture. This clarity facilitates the identification of potential issues and the optimization of defense strategies. The insights gained from the dashboard are crucial for making informed decisions regarding security management and resource allocation.
License Entitlement Overview
The License Entitlement Overview shows the total number of entitlements linked to your account. If your account has multiple active Threat Defense licenses, they are ranked as follows: 1 - Advanced, 2 - Business Cloud, 3 - Business On-prem, and 4 - Essentials, with Advanced having the highest priority. You can increase the Dossier and Ecosystem event limits by purchasing addons.
This section includes the following information:
Subscription Plan: Displays information about the user subscription entitlement. This information includes the subscription plan, and the plan’s start and end dates. Mouse over the tool tip to view additional information about the account's additional entitlements.
Protected Users: Displays the number of protected users associated with the subscription entitlement.
Dossier Queries: Displays information on the number of Dossier queries provided by the entitlement.
Advanced subscribers get 64K queries per year (inclusive of all protected users).
Business CLound and Business On-Prem subscribers get 32K queries per year (inclusive of all protected users).
Ecosystem Events: Displays the number Infoblox Ecosystem events associated with the entitlement.
Trend Metric Analysis
The Usage Analysis displays a graphical representation of the numerical usage data displayed in the Reporting section.
This section displays the following information:
Queries per Protected User: This metric illustrates the daily DNS queries generated by each account, encompassing all protected users. The solid blue line represents the number of DNS queries per account per day, while the dashed red line signifies the total number of queries allowed per protected user each day, capped at 3.5K queries. For instance, in the screenshot above, the average monthly utilization from September 2024 to February 2025 is noted as 1.2K. Additionally, the tooltip will display the time range used for calculating this average utilization.
Dossier Usage: This metric illustrates the total number of Dossier queries conducted per account annually, including all protected users. The solid blue line represents the daily query count per account, while the dashed red line indicates the total number of queries available per account each year, determined by the subscription level. For example, as shown in the screenshot above, the cumulative total utilization from September 2024 to February 2025 is 736 queries.
Advanced: 64K queries/year (includes all protected users)
On-Premises and Business Cloud: 32K queries/year (includes all protected users)
Essentials: Not applicable
Ecosystem Events: This metric illustrates the daily count of ecosystem events per user. The limit for ecosystem events is set at 4,000 events per user each day. The dashed horizontal red line represents the maximum number of events permitted per user on a daily basis. For accounts where ecosystem events have not been activated, no data will be displayed. Additionally, the tooltip will display the time range used for calculating this average utilization,
Date Range Selector
The default setting is the monthly data view. To switch to daily data, simply click Daily. To revert back to the monthly data view, click Monthly.
Viewing Daily Data: Click Daily to access daily data. You can view data for up to 12 months, including the current month. For accounts that have been active for less than 12 months, the available data will correspond to the duration of the account's activity. For instance, if your organization has been a subscriber for five months, you will only have access to five months of data, which includes the current month's data.
Viewing Monthly Data: Click Monthly to see the monthly data. The monthly view is selected by default. Similar to the daily data view, you can access up to 12 months of data, including the current month. If your account is newer than 12 months, the available data will be limited to the time the account has been active. For example, if your organization has been subscribed for eight months, you will only be able to view eight months of data, including the current month's data.
