Editing External Networks

To edit an external network, complete the following:

  1. From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Security > External Networks.

  2. On the External Networks page, select the external network to be edited and click Edit at the top Action bar.

  3. On the Edit Network page, complete the following:

    • Network Name: Enter the name of the network. Ensure that you use a unique name for each network.

    • Description: Enter a brief description of the network.

    • Subnets: To edit a subnet enter a valid subnet based on an IPv4 address or IPv6 address and netmask. To avoid duplicate networks and issues with ACLs defined for the DNS Firewall, Infoblox Threat Defense does not allow a CIDR block that spans a wide range of IPs. You can enter a valid netmask between /24 and /32. IPv4 subnets larger than /29 and IPv6 subnets larger than /56 will be verified by the Infoblox support team prior to becoming operational. Please allow 5 business days for support team verification. Infoblox Threat Defense will return an error if you enter an invalid netmask. Click Add to add the subnet address to the list. You can add multiple subnets by repeating the same steps. To delete a subnet from the list, select the subnet and click Remove located on the top Action bar.

  4. Click Save & Close to save your configuration. Infoblox Threat Defense adds the newly created network to the Networks list.
