Creating Category Filters
Each domain category contains sub-categories that further define the respective content. When you configure category filters, you can add as many categories and sub-categories based on your business needs. For example, if you want Infoblox to detect and block internet content related to tobacco and alcohol, you select and add these sub-categories to your category filter. You must then add the category filter to a security policy and assign the Block action for the category filter to take effect.
Infoblox considers the following categories to be high risk.
Adult
Aggressive
Criminal Activities
Malicious
Uncategorized
Note: Infoblox has added support for new content categories and sub-categories to improve the power and flexibility for building your security policies. Note that new categories apply only to customers who have received communication from Infoblox. Not all customers can see the new categories.
If you have previously configured category filters, Infoblox automatically converts them into the newly supported categories and sub-categories. To further understand the new categories and how they map to the previous ones, so you can review and adjust your category filters accordingly, see Mapping for Category Filters.
Reporting Incorrect Data: To report incorrect data, submit the Dossier Threat Research Feedback from. For information, see Dossier Threat Research Feedback.
Although you cannot view or configure the predefined domains associated with the sub-categories, you can set the Block, Allow, Log, or Redirect action when you add the category filter to the security policy. For information about security policies, see Configuring Security Policies.
To create a content categorization rule or category filter, complete the following:
From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Security > Policies.
On the Security Policies page, click the Filters tab located above the top Action bar.
On the Filters page, click Create Filter on the top Action bar.
From among the options displayed (Create Category Filter or Create App Filter), click Create Category Filter.
On the Create Category Filter page, complete the following:
Name: Enter a name for the category filter. Ensure that you use a unique name for each filter. This is a required field.
Description: Enter a brief description of the filter. You can enter up to 256 characters.
Create a tag for the category filter. For information on creating tags, see Applying Tags.
From the CATEGORIES list, expand the AVAILABLE list by clicking on the respective arrow next to the category type to expose the sub-categories within a category. For example, to expose the subcategories within the Risk/Fraud/Crime category, click the right pointing arrow.
Within each filter category, sub categories are listed. You can add an entire filter category or select among the subcategories to include in your category filtering policy by clicking the right pointing arrow associated with a category or a sub-category. To remove a category or sub-category from the categories list, click the X icon associated with the category or sub-category, or to remove all categories from the categories list, click the trash bucket.
Click Save & Close to save the categories list or click Cancel to cancel the category list configuration. Infoblox Threat Defense adds the category filter to the list.
