Viewing Data Connector Status

You can view the list of Data Connectors on the the Manage -> On-Prem Hosts page. Data Connectors are deployed as on-prem hosts with the Data Connector service enabled.

You can configure source, destinations, ETL filters, and traffic flows on the Manage -> Data Connector page of the Cloud Services Portal. This page displays the list of Data Connectors that are currently in your network. For information about host management for data connectors, see Managing  Data Connectors.

To view the list of Data Connectors:

  • From the Cloud Services Portal, click Manage -> On-Prem Hosts page. Yyou can also identify your Data Connectors in the right-hand panel by checking the License Information to see whether the CDC service is enabled.
  • The Cloud Services Portal displays the following information about the Data Connector:
    • ON-PREM HOST: The name of your Data Connector. This is the name you gave your Data Connector when you first created it.
    • STATE: The overall state of the Data Connector and its associated services. The Data Connector can have one of the following statuses:
      • Online: The on-prem host is in the Online state when the Data Connector itself and the CDC service running on it are functioning properly and in a healthy state.
      • Review Details: The Data Connector is in this mode when the CDC service is not performing correctly, even if the host itself is functioning properly. A degraded service is considered to exist when a specified level of degradation persists for a specified period of time. You can view the information of the host on the right panel, which gives you a comprehensive view of the current platform and service status. A host can be disconnected when one the following happens:
        • You have configured the host using the API key, and the host is waiting to be connected to BloxOne Threat Defense Cloud.
        • For certain reasons, the host is offline and is not connected to BloxOne Threat Defense Cloud.
    • HOST TYPE: The deployment type for your Data Connector. If you deployed your Data Connector using Docker, this field displays BloxOne Container. For OVA VM, this displays BloxOne OVA. This field can also display the following values: NIOS and Unspecified.
    • HOST IP ADDRESS: The IPv4 address of the Data Connector.
    • DESCRIPTION: Information about the Data Connector.

When you select a specific Data Connector, the Cloud Services Portal displays detailed information about the host in the right-hand panel as follows:

  • Description: The name of the Data Connector.
  • IP Address: The IP address of the Data Connector. The current release supports only IPv4 addresses.
  • Created: The timestamp when the Data Connector was created, in mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss time zone format.
  • Last Seen: The last time when the Data Connector was active.
  • Host Type: The deployment type for your Data Connector. If you deployed your Data Connector using Docker, this field displays BloxOne Container. For OVA VM, this displays BloxOne OVA. This field can also display the following values: NIOS and Unspecified.
  • Host Version: The version of the on-prem agent that is currently running on the Data Connector.
  • MAC Address: The discovered MAC address for the Data Connector.
  • API Key: The API key that is associated with the host. You used this key to configure the connection between the on-prem host and BloxOne Threat Defense Cloud. You need this key when setting up the on-prem host so you can establish the host connection. Click Copy to get the key. This is mainly for backward compatibility purposes if your on-prem host was configured using an API access key.
  • OPHID: The auto-generated unique ID for the Data Connector.
  • License Information: This section displays the licenses that have been installed and are running on the Data Connector.
  • Platform Management: This section displays the Status, Version, and Last Updated information about your platform.
  • Application Management: This section displays information about the application that is currently running on your Data Connector.
  • For Data Connector, CDC is displayed. The Cloud Services Portal displays the services that are currently running on the host. You can expand this section to view the following information:
    • Version: The version of the agent that is currently running on the Data Connector.
    • Last Updated: The timestamp when the Data Connector was last updated, in mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss time zone format.

Note

If your Data Connector is in the Review Details state, you also see errorMessages that describes the problem.
