Preparing the vNIOS Image
Preparing the vNIOS Image
The vNIOS for Azure Stack Hub virtual hard disk (VHD) image available on the Infoblox Support site is sized dynamically, to ensure that it is portable on networks. However, Azure runs only fixed-size GEN 1 VHD images. Therefore, you must convert the vNIOS image to an Azure compatible format using a conversion tool. The procedure in this topic is based on Hyper-V Manager, but you can use a different conversion tool.
To convert the image:
- Log in to the Infoblox Support site.
- On the Downloads tab, complete the following:
- Infoblox Software: Choose NIOS/vNIOS from the drop-down list.
- Select release type: Select General maintenance products with full engineering support for routine patches and bug fixes on all significant issues.
- Select version: Choose the NIOS version from the drop-down list.
- vNIOS for Azure section: Download the vhd.gz file.
- Use 7-zip to extract the image.
- Launch Hyper-V Manager.
In the panel on the left, select your local computer.
In the Actions panel, click Edit Disk.
- In the Edit Virtual Hard Disk Wizard dialog, click Next.
- On the Locate Virtual Hard Disk page, browse to and select the downloaded virtual disk.
- On the Choose Action page, select Convert and click Next.
- On the Convert Virtual Hard Disk page, select VHD and click Next.
- Select Fixed size and click Next.
- Browse to and select a path where the converted VHD file should be saved.
- In the Save As dialog, type a unique name in the File name field and click Save.
- Click Finish and proceed to uploading the vNIOS Image on Azure Stack Hub.
The converted, fixed-size image will be 250 GB in size.
