Starting or Stopping NIOS Services

You can start and stop NIOS services from the Infoblox Portal. This gives you the flexibility to manage NIOS services without actually having to log on to NIOS.

Complete the following steps to start or stop NIOS services from Infoblox Portal:

  1. Log on to Infoblox Portal.

  2. Go to Configure > Servers.

  3. You can see the NIOS NIOS-X Servers with NIOS under the NIOS-X Server name.

  4. The following services are listed:

    • NIOS DHCP

    • NIOS DNS

    • NIOS Grid Manager

    • NIOS Grid Connector

  5. Click … (three dots) for the particular service and select one of the following options:

    • Start - to start the service.

    • Stop - to stop the service.

    • General Information - view general information about the service.

Only users with the DDI Administrator Role in the Infoblox Portal can start or stop the NIOS services through the Infoblox Portal.

On the NIOS DNS and NIOS DHCP services, only Start and Stop actions are available. On the NIOS Grid Connector, Start, Stop, View logs, Edit, and Restart actions are available. No actions are available on the NIOS Grid Manager service.

NIOS Grid Connector cannot be deleted after Enabling the Cloud Grid Management.
