Creating Routing Protocols

To create a routing protocol policy, do the following:

1. In the Cloud Services Portal, click Manage > Service Edge > Edges > Edges.
2. Select the checkbox next to the respective edge and click Protocols.
3. From the Protocols drop-down menu choose one of the following and click Configure:
   
   • BGP (Border Gateway Protocol): A standardized exterior gateway protocol used to exchange routing information between autonomous systems on the internet. BGP distributes routing information among different autonomous systems. You can use BGP for making routing-related decisions according to paths, network policies, or rulesets.
   • RIP (Routing Information Protocol): A dynamic routing protocol that uses the hop count as a routing metric to find the best path between the source and destination. Use RIP to implement a limit on the number of hops needed to avoid network looping. RIP can support up to 15 hops.
   • OSPF (Open Short Path First): An IGP (Interior Gateway Protocol) for the internet. It is used to distribute IP routing information throughout a single autonomous system in a network. It is a link-state routing protocol in which the routers exchange topology information with their nearest neighbors. Use OSPF to create routing protocol rules for determining the best end-to-end path from the source to the destination.

5. Click Save & Close.
