Configuring Edge Profiles

An edge profile is a set of policies that contain the security rules that you associate with your edges or edge groups. Based on the configured rules, a profile determines the actions that a user or service on your edge can perform on various resources and content.

An edge profile consists of one policy or a combination of policies you have configured, such as policies for firewalls, NAT, port forwarding, routing, and routing protocols. For more information, see Configuring Profiles and Edges and BloxOne Service Edge.

The Edge Profiles page of the Cloud Services Portal displays the following information for each edge profile:

  • NAME: The name of the profile.
  • POLICIES: The number of policies associated with the profile. You can see details of the policies in the panel on the right or by clicking the number. The Policies dialog is displayed, and you can see the policy name and policy type included in the edge profile.

You can do the following on the Edge Profiles page:

  • View the details of a profile: Select the profile and view its details in the panel on the right or by clicking .
  • Modify a profile: Click  Edit, or select the checkbox for the profile and click the Edit button.
  • Remove a profile: Select the profile and click  Remove or click the Remove button.
  • Search for profiles by keyword: In the Search text box, enter the keyword that you want to search on. The application displays the profiles that match the keyword.
