Configuring and Implementing dnsproxy for iOS Devices

Configuration Requirements

  • iOS-only compatability

  • To enable dnsproxy, the extensionType value in MDM must be set to dnsproxy in the app configuration on MDM

  • The dnsproxy extension is applicable only to iOS and is not supported on Android devices.

  • Ensure the extension type configuration is properly applied to all iOS devices via MDM for dnsproxy to function correctly.

To enable dnsproxy on iOS devices, Mobile Device Management (MDM) must push a custom mobile configuration to the devices.

The steps for configuring dnsproxy vary depending on the MDM solution being used. This guide provides instructions for configuring dnsproxy for use with Intune and MobileIron.
