Creating Join Tokens for Endpoint

Infoblox Endpoint supports join tokens for Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and Linux deployments. For details on installing Infoblox Endpoint on Android devices, visit the Google Play store.

To create a join token, do the following:

  1. Log in to the Infoblox Portal.

  2. Open the Configure > Security > Endpoints > Join Tokens tab, and then click Create.

  3. In the Create Token dialog, specify the following:

    • Name (required): Enter a name for the new token.

    • Description: Enter a description for the token.

    • Expiration Date: Click the Calendar object to select a date and time for the join token’s expiration.

    • Endpoint Group: Click Select List to select an endpoint group from the drop-down list.

    • Tags: Click Add and specify the following to associate a key with the host:

      • KEY: Enter a meaningful name for the key, such as a location or department.

      • VALUE: Enter a value for the key. For details, see Managing Tags.

  4. Click Save & Close.

  5. The join token string appears in the Copy Token? dialog box. Click Copy to copy the token string. Make sure to save it in a place where you can find it later. You will need it when you configure your virtual hosts as part of future deployments.

The other options for obtaining a copy of the token string are downloading and copying the QR code image. Make sure to save the image in a place where you can find it later. You will need it when you configure the MDM config file.

Note: The join token you created appears only once in the dialog box. After you close the dialog, you will not be able to retrieve the token.

Configuring Join Tokens Using the MDM Tool

To configure the application through the MDM tool, download the MDM configuration file from the Configure > Security> Endpoints > Endpoints Groups tab.

Note: For new installations of MDM, the application will work only if you specify joinToken instead of customerId.

Note: After downloading the endpoint package for Windows/MAC in the Infoblox Portal, an entry is created under Configure > Security > Endpoints > Join Tokens in the Infoblox Portal. The default expiration for this token is one year, but you can edit the token and select the checkbox to have no expiration date. The join token is created under the All Infoblox Endpoints (Default) endpoint group and can be used for multiple endpoint groups.
