Configuring Access Views

The Configure > Administration > User Access > Access Views page displays the following information for the access views that are currently available in your system.

  • NAME: The name of the access view to which you have access.

  • DESCRIPTION: The description of the access view.

Infoblox access views provide user access at the organizational level, allowing divisional teams in your organization to manage their own sets of resources. By assigning the suitable level of user and user group access via access policies, access views allow appropriate divisions, departments, or functions to manage their respective resources. For more information about access views, see About Access Views. For information about users, user groups, and access policies, see Managing Role-Based Access Control.

As illustrated in the following diagram, utilizing access views allows your corporate administrators to retain control over the entire corporate infrastructure while divisional administrators and users can independently manage their designated resources without gaining excessive access to other areas of the organization. Consequently, access views can effectively limit visibility and access control while granting autonomy to relevant users.

This diagram describes how an organization can use compartments for divisional resources and access control.
