Updating General Server Information

On the General Info page of the Edit <Server> wizard, you can update the general server information, as follows: 

• Name: Enter the name of the server. This is a required field.

• Description: Enter additional information about the server.

• Serial Number: Update the serial number of your server.

  • For physical VEP-1425 and VEP-1485 servers, obtain the seven-digit serial number from the Service Tag label on the bottom of the server.

• IP Space: From the drop-down menu, choose or search for an IP space in which you want your server to reside.

• Location: From the drop-down list, choose a location profile you want to apply to the server. When you associate a location with the server, you can find the exact location of the server on the world map. For information, see Viewing General Server Information. You can also apply the same location profile to multiple servers to group the servers by location. For information about location management, see Managing Locations.

• Tags: Click the down arrow and then Add to specify the keys to be associated with the server:

  • KEY: Enter a meaningful name for the key, such as a location or a department.  

  • VALUE: Select the appropriate checkbox, and enter the value for the associated key. For details, see Managing Tags.

Click Next to go to the IP Interface Settings page. You can also click Cancel to cancel the configuration or click Finish to save it.
