Cloning DNS Assured Forwarding (DAF) Policies

Use the cloning feature to create a DAF policy by reusing the properties of an existing DAF policy. Do the following:

  1. In the Cloud Services Portal, go to Manage > Firewalls > DNS Assured Forwarding > DNS Assured Forwarding Policies.

  2. Select the policy you would like to clone, and click the Clone. Selecting more than one policy will disable the button.

  3. Do the following in the General tab:

    1. Specify the following fields:

      • Name: Create a name that does not exceed 64 characters in length. Use numbers, any special characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, and even spaces. Start and end the name with any character but not a space. Leading and trailing spaces will be trimmed off automatically.

      • Description: Enter a description that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

    2. Review and, if necessary, modify the settings for the remaining fields shown on this page. These settings have been inherited from the DAF policy you are cloning.

    3. Click Next.

  4. Do the following in the Bypass Rules tab:

    • To modify an inherited rule, select it, click Edit, modify the settings in the Create a DAF Rule dialog, and click Save.

    • To remove an inherited rule, select it, click Remove, and click Next.

    • To add a rule, do the following:

      1. Click Add Rule, and specify the following in the Create a DAF Rule dialog:

        • Name: Specify a name that does not exceed 48 characters in length and consists of numbers and lowercase letters.

        • Source IP or Network: Leave as ANY, or specify a valid IP address or network.

        • Destination IP or Network: Leave as ANY, or specify a valid IP address or network.

        • Protocol: Select ICMP, IP, TCP, or UDP.

        • Destination port: Specify a value from 1 to 65535

      2. Click Save. The bypass rule you have added will appear in the list of rules in this DAF policy.

  5. Do the following in the Summary dialog:

    1. Review the rules you have created in this DAF policy.

    2. Click Back to modify the configuration, Cancel to close the wizard without saving the configuration, or Save & Close to save the configuration and close the wizard.
